In an effort to attract more foreign and domestic investment, the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) will organize the 2019 Regional Investment Forum on March 11 in the ICE – BSD, Tangerang, Banten, creating a platform for government and businesses to engage with each other, highlighting the importance of digital technology to boost Indonesia’s regional and tourism development.
The forum will be attended by more than 500 participants comprising representatives from the central and regional governments, digital startups, investment and financial institutions.
The forum will feature various programs including a seminar featuring high level speakers and top digital technology companies; digital startups pitching session featuring startups in various sectors that will pitch their business concepts to investors; a business clinic providing consulting services for startups and investors alike on investment procedures in Indonesia; one-on-one meetings enabling participants to maintain contact directly with provincial government officials and related stakeholders; exhibitions showcasing selected startups and regional investment opportunities; and an investment lounge facilitating informal meetings among participants.
Specifically, Indonesian startups taking part in the forum have a diverse business focus, covering several sectors: agriculture, fisheries and livestock, tourism and leisure, e-commerce, innovative and creative products, financial technology, health care, food and drink, and education.
The panel discussion in particular will feature insightful talks by practitioners in tourism, regional development and digital technology, which are the emphasis of the upcoming forum. It will be opened by BKPM Chairman Thomas Lembong with his remarks.
The panel discussion will feature prominent speakers including Communications and Information Minister Rudiantara, Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Sugeng, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan as well as Nalagenetics co-founder Levana Sani, among others. They will appear at a session called “Indonesia’s Strategy on Digital Economy and Tourism Industry: The Regulators’ Perspective”.
East Java Vice Governor Emil Dardak is also scheduled to attend the panel discussion along with venture capital company Kejora Venture founding partner Sebastian Togelang, Vice President and Digital Strategy and Development Telkom Indonesia Wiseto Prasetyo Agung. They are expected to appear at a session called “Talking Business: Indonesia’s Investment Opportunities in the Digital Era”.
This event will be held back to back with the National Coordination Meeting of Investment (Rakornas Investasi) and the Coordination of Investment Monitoring initiated by BKPM that will be attended by Central and Regional Administrations.
